A few hours ago I got on the train from Stavanger to Oslo, Norway. This is what's on my headphones, and in my hands.
🎵: William Bassinski - "Cascade" (2015)
📖: Alan Watts - "Become What You Are"
After reading the chapter called "The One", I immediately had to write. A moment later, this poem came to existence.
The Streetlight casts its own shadow
Everyone for that matter casts their own shadows
That's just the way it is when we are children of light,
this Source of unknown—beautiful feeling
Light and darkness uniting and fighting at the same time
Always in total harmony, and utter chaos
Emptiness has never felt so filling.
Silence has never felt so loud.
Inner peace never so chaotic.
Though total madness never felt at all peaceful,
it still feels right, good, as it should be.
Polar opposites must work in harmony.
Life is simply an act of balance
most of us so easily drown in.
We get carried away by the smallest things
Namely our own "selves" – our egos
"How to happiness", like there was a ‘one size fits all’-recipe.
All the pleasures we so strongly desire,
hinders us from seeing, feeling our true selves
right where we are in this very moment.
We escalate our own egos
to the point where everything else but «me» becomes insignificant
and all that is left is a voidness so void
it is neither existent nor non-existent...
It is here,
when you give up,
that true healing begins.
You are free,
from your own limiting thoughts,
from the constant need for other's approval.
You are ready to approach life
as a true human being.
Can you believe it?
