«She's been walking in this labyrinth for days. The exit is nowhere to be found. The deeper she goes, the darker her mind becomes. She is trapped in a labyrinth of thoughts, and she is the only one who can find her way out of there.
With each step she takes she thinks, and thinks, and thinks even harder still: "Where's the exit? How did I get here in the first place? Is there a meaning to why I am here?" The questions fires rapidly in her mind. But each thought and each step brings her closer to nowhere. A massive wave of doubt crashes over her. She is paralyzed. Eventually she falls asleep, thoughts still raging in the back of her unconscious mind.
Opening up her eyes the next day, she finds herself back home, outside the labyrinth. A good friend comes to visit her. She explains to her friend how she felt like she was going to remain lost in a labyrinth of thoughts for all eternity the day before. But by explaining this, she realizes that she is outside now. This puzzles her. How come she was so lost yesterday, yet today is able to view the labyrinth from above now? By this thought, she was enlightened. Her inner bioluminescence was lit.»

Last summer I bought a little kaleidoscope-necklace at a market in Berlin. The following months I've been filming all kinds of different things through it. Then, in September, I brought it with me to the mountains of my childhood town. I didn't know it at the time I was up there, but that footage was going to be the base of Bioluminescent's accompanying visuals. Together with some other footage I've taken in Berlin and Norway I made this video – all by myself. :)

• A thousand thanks to Daniel Lindestad for exploring Amsterdam with me.
• A thousand thanks to Berlin, my flatmates in Moabit, and that late evening I watched a documentary on YouTube about Bioluminescence which sparked this project, literally. ;)
• A thousand thanks to the Universe, to Tao, «the Way», or whatever force or anti-force pulling or pushing us through time and space.
